
10/08/2021 · To make scones, first, preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C). Then, add 4 cups (500 g) of flour, ¼ cup (50 g) of granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons (29 g) of baking powder and 1 teaspoon (6 g) of salt to a large bowl. Blend in 3 sticks of butter with a pastry cutter until the butter is balled up into peasized pieces.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Add the butter and cut with a pastry cutter or a fork until the butter is the size of large peas. In a separate bowl whisk together the buttermilk, 1 egg, and vanilla extract. Make a well in the middle and add the liquid mixture.
